Producer Kenneth J. Harvey is delighted to announce that Theresa Wayman is attached to play Ruth in the film adaptation of the Giller-nominated, award-winning novel INSIDE (Harcourt, Random UK).
“The moment I saw Theresa I knew she was Ruth,” said Harvey. “Her look, her voice, her sensibility are all a direct mirror of the character. She was my dream choice and I am so ecstatic to have her attached to the film, and so thankful to her for loving INSIDE and joining us.”
Actress Theresa Wayman (“The Rules of Attraction,” “Pete Smalls is Dead”) is also guitarist and vocalist for the Los Angeles indie rock group Warpaint.
“She has a beautiful, melodic calming voice which is essential to the character of Ruth,” Harvey explained. “Theresa will also narrate the film, a shift from the initial draft of the script that was originally written for Myrden (the main character) to narrate.”
INSIDE tells the story of Myrden, a man wrongfully accused of murder, released to return to his tough neighbourhood and claim over a million dollars in compensation.
The film is set to shoot in 2022 in Newfoundland. Harvey has written the screenplay and will direct.
